Nº8 Wall Light

Nº8 wall light – delicate wooden reading light by Marset

The Nº8 Wall Light is a particularly delicate, understated wall light by Marset that impresses with natural materials and clean lines. Its slender metal arm with braided fabric carries a warm wooden head and directs the light precisely where it is needed. As a discreet reading and accent light, the Nº8 is ideal for the bedroom next to the bed, the living room, the hallway or the reading armchair. It combines a handcrafted feel with modern LED technology and blends harmoniously into homely interiors.

With its minimal design, the Nº8 wall light brings warmth and character to the wall without being intrusive – a small, charming design object that is genuinely useful in everyday life.

Design & inspiration of the Nº8 Wall Light

Characteristic of the Nº8 Wall Light is the interplay between the slender, fabric-braided arm and the solid wooden head. The arm looks almost like a fine line on the wall, while the wooden head provides a warm, tactile counterpoint. With a reach of up to 42.5 cm, the light can be brought comfortably close to the reading spot. The result is a light that looks both delicate and homely.

The designer – Christophe Mathieu

The Nº8 was designed by Christophe Mathieu and launched in 2016. Mathieu has already designed several lights for Marset and is known for his clear, functional approach to design. With the Nº8 wall light, he successfully combines natural materials, precise light direction and a calm, timeless design language.

Light source & technology

The Nº8 wall light is equipped with a permanently integrated LED (2.1 W, 2700 K, CRI 80, around 226 lm). The warm white light creates a cosy atmosphere and is ideal as a reading and mood light. The light is connected directly to the mains (hardwired, 100–240 V) and is not dimmable; the switch is located on the wall bracket. The LED is included and does not need to be replaced.

Finishes & colours

The Nº8 Wall Light is available in two fine wood tones: oak and wenge. The light oak looks friendly and Nordic, the dark wenge elegant and warm. This allows you to choose the Nº8 to match existing wood and your interior style. Simply choose your preferred finish from the dropdown.

Material & workmanship

The Nº8 wall light combines high-quality materials: the wall bracket is made of steel, the arm of metal with a braided fabric and the head of real wood. This combination of materials gives the light its special, tactile quality while ensuring stability and durability. The canopy is black and blends discreetly into the wall. Careful workmanship makes the Nº8 a long-lasting companion.

Use & effect

The Nº8 wall light is the ideal bedside reading light: the movable, far-reaching arm brings the light right to your book without taking up space on the bedside table. It works equally well next to a reading armchair, in the hallway or as a warm accent on an empty wall. The directed, warm white light creates a calm, cosy mood. Placed in pairs on the left and right of the bed, the Nº8 creates a particularly harmonious look.

Why the Nº8 Wall Light?

The Nº8 wall light combines natural materials with precise light direction and unmistakable Marset design. Instead of interchangeable mass-produced goods, you get a delicate designer light with a handcrafted feel, a real wooden head and a fabric-braided arm. If you are looking for an elegant, space-saving reading and accent light for the bedroom or living room, the Nº8 wall light is a choice for timeless design and high quality – a small piece that enhances any room.
