Bicoca Table Lamp

Bicoca table lamp – cordless rechargeable light by Marset

The Bicoca Table Lamp is a completely cordless rechargeable light by Marset that brings light wherever you need it – without a socket. With its striking shade reminiscent of a table lamp from the past and its integrated battery, the Bicoca combines the charm of a classic reading light with the freedom of modern, portable lighting. Whether on the dining table, the bedside table, the windowsill or outdoors on the terrace: the Bicoca table lamp creates a warm, cosy light everywhere and quickly becomes a likeable companion in everyday life.

As a portable light with a rechargeable battery, the Bicoca is ideal for anyone who wants to design flexibly with light. Simply charge, take it with you and set it down – the Bicoca table lamp makes any spot cosy in no time.

Design & inspiration of the Bicoca Table Lamp

Characteristic of the Bicoca Table Lamp is its clear, almost iconic silhouette: a slender body that merges into a slightly tilted shade and directs the light precisely downwards. This shape deliberately recalls the small desk lamp of past decades, but consistently reinterprets it – minimal, monochrome and completely cordless. The result is a light that looks both familiar and contemporary and fits into almost any interior.

The designer – Christophe Mathieu

The Bicoca was designed by Christophe Mathieu and launched in 2017. Mathieu, who has already designed several lights for Marset, follows a functional, emotional approach to design: his designs are meant not only to look good but, above all, to provide pleasant light and real everyday usefulness. With the Bicoca table lamp, he has created a portable light that harmoniously combines technical function and design clarity.

Akku, Dimmer & Lichtqualität

The Bicoca table lamp works with an integrated LED (3.5 W, 2700 K) and a rechargeable battery. A practical 3-step dimmer on the base lets you adjust the brightness in three levels – depending on the selected level, the Bicoca shines for between around 5 and 20 hours before it needs to be recharged. A full charge takes about 10 hours. The warm white light with high colour rendering (CRI 90) creates a pleasant, homely atmosphere and makes colours look natural. The LED is permanently integrated and does not need to be replaced.

Finishes & colours

The Bicoca Table Lamp is available in four matt colours: pearl white (RAL 9001), anthracite (RAL 7026), wine red (RAL 3005) and yellow (RAL 1032). From subtle pearl white to elegant anthracite and the expressive tones of wine red and yellow, there is a suitable version for every interior style. Simply choose your preferred colour from the dropdown.

Material & workmanship

The shade, body and diffuser of the Bicoca table lamp are made of robust polycarbonate. This material is light, shatterproof and easy to care for – ideal for a light that is regularly moved and taken along. The matt surface looks high-quality and is hard-wearing, and the diffuser spreads the light softly and without glare. This makes the Bicoca designed for years of uncomplicated use.

Use & effect

Thanks to its battery, the Bicoca table lamp can be used independently of sockets: as an atmospheric table light at dinner, a reading lamp on the bedside table, an accent on the sideboard or a cosy companion on the balcony and terrace. Several Bicoca lights in different colours create attractive accents. The directed shade provides focused light downwards, while the diffuser ensures a pleasant softness.

Why the Bicoca Table Lamp?

The Bicoca table lamp combines cordless freedom with unmistakable Marset design: a rechargeable battery, a practical 3-step dimmer and warm white quality light in a charming, timeless housing. Instead of interchangeable mass-produced goods, you get a well-thought-out designer light that is versatile, robustly made and available in four beautiful colours. If you value emotional Spanish lighting design, real portability and long-lasting quality, the Bicoca table lamp is a choice that brings joy every day.
