Scantling P73 Floor Lamp

Scantling P73 floor lamp – design classic by Marset

The Scantling P73 Floor Lamp by Marset is a modern design classic: a slim steel floor lamp with an arm of solid oak and a swivelling aluminium shade. It combines warm, natural materials with clear, technical precision and emits a directional, pleasant light. Next to the sofa, armchair or in the reading area, it becomes an elegant eye-catcher while providing targeted reading light.

Design & inspiration of the Scantling P73 Floor Lamp

Characteristic of the Scantling P73 Floor Lamp is the combination of a slim steel body, an arm of solid oak and a precisely made aluminium shade. The shade swivels and directs the light precisely where it is needed. The warm oak breaks up the technical feel of the steel and gives the light a homely, timeless character. The result is a design that has lost none of its relevance since 2010.

The designer – Mathias Hahn

The Scantling was designed by Mathias Hahn and launched in 2010. Hahn is known for his thoughtful, material-conscious approach to design. With the Scantling family, he created a timeless collection that skilfully stages the contrast between warm oak and cool steel.

Light source & operation

The Scantling P73 Floor Lamp is designed for an E27 light bulb (LED, approx. 7.8 W), which is not included – so you can choose the light colour and brightness freely. We recommend a warm white LED light bulb (2700 K) for a particularly cosy light. The swivelling aluminium shade allows the light to be aligned precisely as a reading, accent or mood light.

Finishes & colours

The Scantling P73 Floor Lamp is available in two colours: white (RAL 9010) and black (RAL 9005), each combined with the warm oak of the arm. The light white looks light and friendly, the black elegant and striking. Simply choose your preferred colour in the drop-down.

Material & workmanship

The Scantling P73 Floor Lamp combines high-quality materials: a steel body, an arm of solid oak and an aluminium shade. This solid combination of materials ensures a pleasant weight, high stability and a long service life. The careful workmanship makes the light a long-lasting companion with genuine design credentials.

Use & effect

Thanks to its swivelling shade, the Scantling P73 Floor Lamp is versatile – as a directional reading light, as an accent or as homely ambient lighting. Its clear, understated design blends into modern and classic interiors. Placed individually, it quickly becomes a design centrepiece.

A family for the whole home

The Scantling is conceived as a complete family of lights: as floor, table and wall lights, the same clear design language of steel, oak and aluminium runs through different rooms and functions. This allows the living room, workplace and sleeping area to be coordinated harmoniously. The uniform language of materials and forms creates a calm, well-thought-out overall look – from the reading light by the armchair to the wall light next to the bed. Anyone wanting to design a room or an entire home consistently will find a flexible, high-quality solution with a high recognition value in the Scantling family.

Why the Scantling P73 Floor Lamp?
