Voliere chandelier – the feather chandelier by Bodo Sperlein for LZF Lamps

The Voliere Chandelier by Bodo Sperlein is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic Art Deco chandelier from the 1920s. The Voliere Chandelier is made in two sizes (Short 110 × ⌀ 87 cm / Large 154 × ⌀ 87 cm) and features natural white wood veneer and a gold metal frame.

The Voliere Chandelier by LZF Lamps is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic Art Deco chandelier from the 1920s. Designer Bodo Sperlein translates the elegance of French Art Deco lighting into a room-defining sculpture whose artfully layered wood veneer elements are reminiscent of feather-like plumes. Voliere celebrates Sperlein’s love of craftsmanship and material and brings a touch of 1920s glamour to contemporary interiors.

Depending on the viewing angle, the feather-like sculptural segments open up different perspectives. Despite its imposing appearance, the Voliere looks surprisingly light and delicate thanks to its well-thought-out construction and choice of materials. When switched on, the warm white light sources create a dramatic interplay of translucent veneer and directional light accents.

Two sizes for every ceiling height

Voliere is available in two sizes – both with the same diameter of 87 cm, but different heights:

• Short: 110 × 87 cm – the more compact version for rooms with moderate ceiling heights
• Large: 154 × 87 cm – the majestic star of the show for high ceilings, foyers and spacious dining and living rooms

The entire construction is designed for a suspension height of up to 5 m: steel cables (3 pieces, each 500 cm) and a gold fabric cable (500 cm) allow flexible adjustment to the local ceiling height.

Material & workmanship

Like all LZF lights, Voliere is handmade from real wood veneer in Valencia (Spain). The veneer used Natural White (23) comes from FSC-certified forestry. The metal frame is finished in glossy Gold – in keeping with the Art Deco original – and carries the delicate feather leaves. The chandelier meets European CE safety requirements and is classified as Schutzklasse I eingestuft.

Light Bulb & Lichtleistung

Voliere is designed for differentiated, atmospheric lighting with two lamp types:

• 14× LED Mini Globe E14, 7 W, dimmbar – inklusive (640 lm gesamt)
• 12× LED Kerze E27, 11 W, dimmbar – inklusive (1.100 lm gesamt)

The light bulbs are included in the delivery and create a warm, glare-free ambience. Voliere is dimmable (with a compatible dimmer, available separately).
