Design & inspiration of the Lauro Floor Lamp

Its characteristic feature is the dome-shaped shade made of chrome-plated steel and opal methacrylate, which emits a soft, glare-free light. The shade can be rotated to adjust the direction of the light precisely and moved up and down along the slender body. This lets you direct the light exactly where it is needed – for reading, as an accent or as atmospheric ambient lighting. The design of the Lauro goes back to J. Pérez Mateo and P. Aragay and originally dates from 1973. Marset carefully reissued the classic in 2025: the timeless silhouette remained untouched, while modern LED technology with an E27 socket ensures contemporary efficiency. This is where the heritage of 1970s Spanish design meets the demands of today’s living and working spaces.

Finishes & colours

The Lauro Floor Lamp is available in four finishes: the frame in either dark brown (NCS S 8505-Y20R) or chrome-plated steel, each combined with a white or black shade. This means there is a suitable version for every interior style – from warm, homely dark brown to cool, glossy chrome. Simply choose your preferred finish from the dropdown.

Material & workmanship

The shade and body are made of high-quality steel; the shade combines chrome-plated steel with methacrylate. The solid workmanship ensures a pleasant weight and long-lasting stability – the Lauro floor lamp stands or hangs securely and looks high-quality throughout. The black cable (2.5 m) comes with a mains plug, and the switch is conveniently located on the shade. Easy to care for and robust, it is designed for years of use.

Use & effect
